Website design and development

Website design and development for businesses that need their site to bring in work: company sites, landing pages, online stores and news platforms, in English, French or Arabic. Each one is fast on a phone, easy for your team to keep up to date, and built so search engines can read every page. WonderTech’s catalogue and Scoop News, a news site with more than a million visitors, run on sites I built.

Company websites and landing pages

A company website has one job: turn a visitor into a conversation. For WonderTech, an IT company in Sfax, that meant a French catalogue of 160+ products and 9 service pages where every product page ends in a quote request instead of a cart, because the business sells through conversations.

A landing page is the same idea on a single page: one offer, one action, nothing in the way.

  • Forms that reach you: a quote or contact request emails you, sends the customer a confirmation and can feed your CRM, so no lead gets lost in an inbox.
  • One search box across products and services that ignores accents, so “camera” finds “Caméra”.
  • Light and dark mode, and a menu made for phones.

Online stores (e-commerce)

An online store is a catalogue with stock and payment behind it, and I have built both halves. WonderTech’s back office tracks stock across several warehouses, with receipts, transfers and low-stock alerts. Calculi and Scoop News take payments online through a Tunisian payment gateway, and every payment is verified with the provider before anything is granted.

For a store selling abroad, the payment provider is chosen for your market and your bank.

News and blog platforms

Scoop News is a news site in Arabic and French with 3,000+ articles in 8 sections. The journalist writes; the platform translates each article into French, posts it to Facebook and turns it into branded cards for Instagram, LinkedIn and X. Its hosting has carried more than a million visitors for a few dollars a month.

Calculi Blog and Invariant are two publications on one custom CMS: drafts, review and publishing, Markdown pasted in and shown exactly as it will appear, with code and mathematical formulas laid out properly.

Multilingual and Arabic (right-to-left) websites

A second language is more than translated text. The French edition of Scoop News has its own addresses, its own navigation and a left-to-right layout, and the language switch takes a reader to the same story in the other language. Calculi’s interface is French and its data Arabic, and students mix both in one sentence; its blog lays out Arabic text with code and formulas in it, where browsers get it wrong by default.

Bouzayen School, a primary school in Sfax, has an Arabic website and blog I built for free, and Ahjez works in Arabic, English and French, down to every message its server sends.

Most visitors arrive on a phone: 78% of Calculi’s users do, and most of Scoop News’s readers come from Facebook on one. So every page is designed for a small screen first. Pages are pre-rendered, so they load fast, and each carries its own title, description, structured data and a place in the sitemap, so search engines understand what it is about.

A site your team can update

WonderTech’s team keeps the catalogue, the services and the partner logos up to date from a back office, and changes appear on the public site within seconds, without a developer. Access is by role: an editor can maintain the catalogue without ever seeing the CRM, and sign-in can require two-factor authentication.

Questions

How much does a website cost?

It depends on the pages, languages and features it needs. My usual ranges: a landing page 380 – 880 TND for clients in Tunisia, €230 – €500 in Europe and $250 – $550 elsewhere; a company website of 5 to 10 pages with a back office 750 – 1,750 TND for clients in Tunisia, €500 – €1,150 in Europe and $550 – $1,250 elsewhere; an online store 1,500 – 3,750 TND for clients in Tunisia, €880 – €2,250 in Europe and $1,000 – $2,500 elsewhere; a multilingual news or blog platform 1,750 – 5,000 TND for clients in Tunisia, €1,150 – €3,000 in Europe and $1,250 – $3,250 elsewhere. You get a written quote after a first call about what the site has to do.

How much does a website cost per month?

Two things: hosting, paid to the host, and care if you want it. Hosting can cost very little when the site is built for it: Scoop News has served more than a million visitors for between a few cents and a few dollars a month, on top of the domain name. Care (updates, backups, monitoring and small changes) is 50 – 200 TND a month for clients in Tunisia, €40 – €150 a month in Europe and $40 – $170 a month elsewhere.

How long does it take to build a website?

It depends on the scope, and you get a written timeline before work starts. For scale: Bouzayen School’s website and its eco platform for pupils took from February to May 2025.

Can I update the website myself?

Yes. Your team edits pages, products and images from a back office, and changes go live within seconds, without redeploying anything.

Do you build websites in Arabic?

Yes, right to left, alone or next to French or English, each language with its own addresses. Scoop News, Calculi, Ahjez and Bouzayen School all work in Arabic.

Should I hire a freelancer or an agency?

An agency splits a site between a designer, a developer, a project manager and a host, and you pay for each layer. With me you talk to the person who designs, builds and hosts the site. The trade-off is capacity: I take a few projects at a time, so we agree on a start date before work begins.
